“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:”
Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8 HCSB
Even when things change, the Lord still reigns. He remains the same constant loving Father Who stays close by us, guiding and protecting us. He holds us up and helps us through.
We’re heading into a season of change. Students are returning to school. And though we’re still experiencing some hot summer days, we know they won’t last long. There’s a sense of urgency to get things done, to accomplish all that we had intended in this season. But there’s also excitement in what is to come.
Whatever you are going through, whatever changes are heading your way, through choice or circumstances, The Lord will be with you. “Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). Hold onto Him.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You that we do not go through this life alone. As it says in Lamentations 5:19, “You, Lord, are enthroned forever; Your throne endures from generation to generation.” We can work through life’s changes with the confidence that You are over all. You have always been and will be forever with us. It’s because we know You will lovingly sustain us that we are able to move through life’s ups and downs. We need You always. In Christ’s name, Amen.
Journal: What changes are you going through? Spend some time in prayer discussing these with Him today.
