“And whoever gives just a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple—I assure you: He will never lose his reward!”
Matthew 10:42 HCSB
“Don’t neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.”

“For God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you showed for His name when you served the saints—and you continue to serve them.”
Hebrews 6:10 HCSB
How many simple tasks do we perform each day? These don’t get much attention when completed, but are greatly noticed when left undone!
I seem to be on toilet paper duty. Whether at home, church, or almost anywhere, I “find” the stall with very little paper. It takes under a minute to change the roll and leave the extra propped on top. But it will be one less stress for the person next in line.
These tasks can be as simple as picking up a piece of trash, topping off the gas tank, pouring a glass of cold water, or holding the door for the next person behind you. Many cost little in time or money, yet leave a blessing—whether they’re noticed or not.
In Scouts they say, “Leave the area a little better than you found it.”
Straighten the shopping carts or put one back in the cart corral so it doesn’t ding a car. We can push in the chairs at the table or put an item back where it belongs.
These simple tasks will always be part of our lives. “A generous person will be enriched, and the one who gives a drink of water will receive water” (Proverbs 11:25).
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for all that You do for us. Many of Your provisions we do not see. But we know You are there and You care for us, helping us through our days in numerous ways! Please help us to share in Your work by completing simple tasks that leave small blessings for those who come across our paths. In Christ’s name, Amen.
