“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish—ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”
John 10:28-29 HCSB
We all struggle with insecurity from time to time. The things of this world can change in an instant, so we cannot be confident in our abilities, plans, or futures.
Our true security comes from knowing that the Lord is always with us. He will remain by us, to lovingly help us, no matter what we’re going through.
We can begin to embrace this security by remembering all that He has already brought us through. We can also spend time in prayer and Bible study, soaking up His love and listening for His voice. There’s a calm assurance when we accept that our lives serve a bigger purpose than we’ll ever know — even in the tough times.
We will have rough days and difficult times in this life. Even then, we can rest in the knowledge that God is in charge, and through the gift of His life, death, and resurrection, we are headed for eternity with Him.
We can confidently repeat these words from Romans 8:38-39: “For I am persuaded that not even death or life, angels or rulers, things present or things to come, hostile powers, height or depth, or any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!” When we allow this knowledge to sink in to our hearts, we will find the peace that passes understanding and a confidence to go out and do the work the Lord has called us to do.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for being our safe place. Thank You for remaining close by and inviting us to come to You at any time for anything. We need You and want a close relationship with You. Thank You for the security of knowing we will spend eternity with You. In Christ’s name, Amen.
Journal: How secure do you feel today? Spend some time with the Lord, sharing your heart and resting in His love.
I rest and am secure in the love of God. Thank you for this message. Have a blessed Sunday! 🙂
