A Quilt Stitched by Grace

“I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 1:6 HCSB

Your eyes saw me when I was formless;
all my days were written in Your book and planned
before a single one of them began.

Psalm 139:16 HCSB

How do you envision your life so far?

I see a beautiful quilt made of squares with colorful visions of times past, followed by the empty squares of days yet to come. The Lord’s provision is visible throughout, in a kaleidoscope of shared experiences that have shaped who I am and all that He’s enabling me to do.

There are people and places He has brought me to, and a myriad of life lessons He’s brought me through. In all times, whether in sadness, blessings, or joy, the Lord has remained true.

Like a quilt, our lives have been purposefully designed and are being neatly stitched together. From our perspective, the quilt is not quite full-size, but rather has space to grow, as the future is not yet known by us. It’s being meticulously created by God’s own hands. Every event is sewn into its proper place in this quilt of life.

Throughout our lives, we move through important seasons and experiences. Some are wonderful memories of special times. Others are struggles meant to strengthen and define. The Lord is always with us. He’s guiding us and stitching our lives into masterpieces, each one-of-a-kind.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for Your attention to the details of our lives. Help us to trust You with each stitch. Nothing is wasted in Your hands. Thank You for continuing the work You have begun in us and for guiding us through each day. May we live in Your grace, with peace and faith, as we step into the unfinished spaces of the days to come. In Christ’s name, Amen.
