We have a running joke in our house that on weekdays we only eat bread and water. Our decent meals are served on weekends. Our older son, who lives an hour and a half away, comes home most weekends while we are in social distancing mode. I enjoy making more elaborate meals when the whole family is together and the work days are done for a while.
Truly, we can survive for a time on bread and water alone, but there is living bread and living water that gives us eternal life. Jesus came to Earth and taught us how to live. He gave up His life on the cross for our sins and rose again so that we could live for eternity with Him. Believing in Jesus, studying His life in the Bible, and spending time with Him in prayer often will keep your spirit fed and your eyes on Heaven.
Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I believe in You. Thank You for giving Your life to take away my sins and those of all who believe in You. Help me to live like You and to share Your love with others. Amen.
