Quiet Time with God

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17

“Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction,
and he meditates on it day and night.”

Psalm 1:2

Quiet time with God is the best way to find our focus and peace for the day. Creating a routine allows us to be still and present. We can separate from our hectic to dos, allowing us to simply be. When we move into that place of open contemplation, we can hear from God.

Gather your devotional, Bible, journal, and writing supplies in a portable basket or bag to be taken to your special place. Bring your favorite drink. Comfort items like warm fuzzy slippers or a blanket can help ground us in the moment. If you have more time, you can light a candle and listen to some soft music.

Mornings can be the best time to get our day started on the right track, but afternoons or evenings give us an opportunity to reflect and find ways to reconnect. Look at your schedule and see what would work best for you in the coming week. God is always available and ready to meet with us! We just need to be available and willing to join Him with a quiet and reflective spirit.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for the gift of quiet time with You. Thank You for the Bible Scriptures and the Holy Spirit that allows us to hear directly from You. Please help us to choose to seek You daily by finding some time away from the business of life to hear Your still, soft voice. Help us to be open to Your guidance.

In Christ’s name, Amen.
