“Search me, God, and know my heart;
Psalm 139:23-24
test me and know my concerns.
See if there is any offensive way in me;
lead me in the everlasting way.”
“but honor the Messiah as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.”
1 Peter 3:15
Your heart never takes a break. This muscle started beating before you were born and will continue throughout your life. It pumps blood full of oxygen and vital nutrients throughout your body, and it helps remove waste. You don’t have to remind it to do this work. It’s just part of God’s amazing plan.
We can help our hearts and bodies stay healthy through the habits we create. Protecting our hearts by exercising, eating fruits and vegetables, drinking water, and getting enough rest will go a long way toward keeping us feeling good.
But we must also examine the health of our spiritual hearts. Do we harbor ill feelings toward others? Do we focus on our fears and self doubts? Do we lack close connections with others or the Lord? Take time to reflect on these questions and seek the Lord’s help with these trials and concerns.
Healthy hearts are critical. Let’s strive to honor the Lord with our hearts every day.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for our hearts. Help us to come to You with our concerns and difficulties. Fill us with the desire to honor You in our hearts and actions.
In Christ’s name, Amen.
