“A man’s steps are established by the Lord,
Psalm 37:23-24
and He takes pleasure in his way.
Though he falls, he will not be overwhelmed,
because the Lord holds his hand.”
“If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.”
Galatians 5:25 (ESV)
“In all your ways acknowledge him,
Proverbs 3:6 (ESV)
and he will make straight your paths.”
We have steps to climb in this life: our daily experiences, activities, and achievements to complete. We move up as we go. We take what we’ve learned and continue to climb. Each lesson gives us helpful insight we can use as we go through life and journey to the next step.
There are times when the staircase turns and we can’t see the next step clearly. We have to hold onto the rail and move slowly, making sure we have a strong footing.
Thankfully, we do not walk alone. The Lord is there to help us. We can ask for His guidance. He promises to make our paths straight, and He takes pleasure as we move forward. The Lord holds our hand and keeps us from being overwhelmed when we stay close to Him.
When we ask for His guidance for our actions of today, we will be equipped to make the best choices and take those steps which we can build on tomorrow.
Each time we reach out to another person to share our faith, we learn and grow. We gain insights that will make it easier and more fruitful the next time.
When we do the next right thing, even if it’s hard, we grow in knowledge, confidence, and strength to do it again another day.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for Your guidance and protection as we move forward each day. Help us to learn from each step we take and to listen to the Holy Spirit so that we can stay in step with You.
In Christ’s name, Amen.
