“I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with My eye on you, I will give counsel.”
Psalm 32:8 HCSB
“The Lord will protect you from all harm; He will protect your life.”
Psalm 121:7 HCSB
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.”
Proverbs 18:10 HCSB
At 3:30am, I dropped my son off at the airport. On the trip home, my navigation system took me on the back roads instead of the freeway.
The first road changed names at least three times. It was an eight mile stretch that was completely unknown to me. Yet I was willing to continue along and trust the navigation system voice, believing it knew the way home better than me.
The darkness of night kept me calmer. Not being able to see the vastness of all that surrounded me allowed me to focus only on the road ahead of me, while listening for what was the next step.
I didn’t question if I should go right or left. With the world around me mostly sleeping, there was no place for me to safely stop off and second guess, so I just followed and trusted.
There was still plenty to see in the darkness, with exterior lights from industrial buildings, homes and apartments, hotels, shops, and restaurants of all types.
As I continued to drive, I noticed a few places I’d visited in the past and took a moment to reminisce. Another time I was stopped by a train along with four other cars. When we began moving again, they all turned into a factory parking lot to start their workday, while I went home and back to bed.
How much more can we trust in the Lord to provide us with direction in every area of our lives!
God’s GPS never fails. He won’t lead us down the wrong path. He’ll never leave us because of a lost signal. His Guidance shows us how to live. His Protection allows us to avoid dangers we may not see. And His Security gives us safety, regardless of any roadblocks or detours we encounter. When we stay connected to Him, we can trust His leading, knowing His ways are always best.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for knowing all and loving us fully. Thank You for being our GPS. You are guiding our paths, protecting us, and providing security. We know You’ll stay close by throughout this life and eternity. Please help us to trust Your voice above any other and live in the peace of knowing we are secure in You. In Christ’s name, Amen.
Journal: In what areas do you need to rely more on God’s GPS in your life right now? Ask Him for His guidance, protection, and security.
Beautifully written! Thank you for your encouraging words of hope. 🙏🏻🩷😇
