“Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:2 HCSB
“For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose.”
Philippians 2:13 HCSB
“Look, I am about to do something new;
Isaiah 43:19 HCSB
even now it is coming. Do you not see it?
Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness,
rivers in the desert.”
This week, we had some flooring replaced in our home. As part of the preparation, we moved things off the floor and made room for the appliances that would be temporarily moved as well. Closets were emptied and spaces were cleaned. In the process, items were decluttered, including jackets and shoes that no longer fit.
With this newfound openness, we could see the areas that weren’t utilized well and the potential of what they could become.
We’ve purchased a few new rugs and kitchen items. Placemats will replace the ripped and faded tablecloth. We’re rearranging items in the kitchen and closet areas.
It’s important to rearrange things as our lives change. These may be physical items. But they can include thoughts, routines, or anything which takes our hearts and focus away from the purpose the Lord has for us.
We were made to be transformed and renewed by the Holy Spirit. Let’s look around with fresh eyes and open hearts to see where we may need to adjust to make room for change.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for loving us through this ever-changing life. Please give us the courage to release what we no longer need and rearrange our time and belongings to enable us to best serve You and others in this season. Help us adapt our hearts and minds so they align to Your priorities and purpose. In Christ’s name, Amen.
