“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a difficult time.”
Proverbs 17:17
“We love because He first loved us.”
I John 4:19
Here is a poem I wrote years ago to give as gifts to my close friends and family:
I love you, friend, for who you are,
not who you hope to be.
I love you for the times we’ve shared,
which make sweet memories.
I know at times it’s hard to see
how close we truly are.
And though the miles may come between,
our friendship is close in heart.
No matter what you do each day,
Or what mistakes you make along the way,
I will always love you, my dear friend.
Ours is a friendship that will never end.
The love of a true friend comes from God. He loved us first and will love us longer and deeper than anyone else. Though I am no longer in contact with some of those who received my poem, when they come to mind, I remember our heart connection and say a prayer for them. Some have gone on ahead to Heaven. I’m looking forward to the reunions we will share when we meet again.
For now, I will focus on sharing the love I have received from God with all those I am honored to know.
Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for Your never ending love. Thank you for always being with us no matter what we do. Thank you for the people You have placed in our lives to lovingly walk beside us. Please help us to share Your love with others. In Christ’s name, Amen.

Your words are always sweet and speak to my heart. Thanks, Becky.

I still have my poem hanging on the refrigerator. It’s funny just the other day Samantha came over and knew right away when she was reading it that it was from you.😘
