Love Letter

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”

Deuteronomy 6:9

“Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men”

Colossians 3:23

Many of us like to plan our time, projects, and habits. We use a variety of calendars, planners, trackers, and lists in both paper and digital formats. They help us to remember and organize important dates and priorities.

I am currently using my summer break to determine what methods are best for recording my own progress. One of my planning mentors suggested I create another name for my tracker because the term wasn’t motivating for me. It seemed methodical and lacked feeling.

Through prayer and reflection in God’s Word, I chose the name My Love Letter:

Living with
Obedience,
Values, and
Endurance.

Every time we make our plans, we can ask God for guidance and direction. Tasks can be simple and repetitive, like preparing meals and doing laundry. Some are specific, such as to improve our health through recording our food and exercise goals. Others are special projects that have many parts which we break down into manageable steps. These responsibilities may or may not bring us happiness in their accomplishment. But when we focus on giving the fruits of our labor to the Lord, we can find joy and love throughout our days.

Prayer:

Dear Lord,
Thank You for all You have given me. Thank You for my talents and gifts. Please help me to seek Your plans daily and to do all that I do for You.
In Christ’s name, Amen.

Journal: What are your plans for today? Have you asked the Lord to help you?
