“Fathers, don’t stir up anger in your children, but bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”
Ephesians 6:4
A Father’s Love
Fathers are a child’s favorite super hero,
Who wrestles and protects.
He carries his young on his shoulders,
reads to them and prays with them.
He looks for monsters under their beds.
He shares a love for all things fun,
From camping and fishing,
To listening and laughing at all of their jokes.
Game playing, bowling, and rounds of mini golf.
Ball tossing, Frisbee flying, tea parties, too.
There are so many things a father will do.
Transporting children in daytime or night,
A father works hard to get it all right.
Whether playing or watching a sport of some kind,
Washing the car, or using new tools,
A father will teach you to follow the rules.
Playing the drums or learning to code,
Watching the trains at the nearest railroad.
Building a robot, a fort, or with blocks,
New challenges await with our favorite teammate.
Most fathers are strong and loving encouragers for their children. They want to provide a presence of support, and they desire to be an active participant in their lives. They are often a role model for other children in the community as well.
Thank the Lord for the influence and involvement of the men in your life.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for fathers, grandfathers, and others who fill these roles in our children’s lives. Thank you for their dedication and involvement. Please provide for those who need this support in their lives. Help those who are missing their loved ones. Thank You for being our heavenly Father and for providing the path to eternal life with You.
In Christ’s name, Amen.
