Summer Fun

“You set all the boundaries of the earth;
You made summer and winter.”

Psalm 74:17

“From the rising of the sun to its setting,
let the name of Yahweh be praised.”

Psalm 113:3

“Happy are the people with such blessings.
Happy are the people whose God is Yahweh.”

Psalm 144:15

The Lord delights in our joy and wants us to find pleasure in our lives, families, and His creation. For many of us, things are starting to open up more. We are heading into a time in the pandemic where we can again get out and travel a little, and spend time with people outside our homes.

What makes summer fun for you and those you love? Look through these ideas. Circle those that would be good additions to your seasonal plans. Choose activities you could do alone, with family, and with friends. Consider things for indoor and outdoor days, and for different lengths of time. Ask others what activities they would like to do.

  • Road trips
  • Family vacations
  • Visiting a historic site
  • Visiting a museum
  • Days at the beach
  • Pool time
  • Camping
  • Tree climbing
  • Bike riding
  • Exploring new parks
  • Ice cream and sunshine
  • Hanging out with friends
  • Late nights with movies
  • Outdoor games and sports
  • Kite flying
  • Mini golf
  • Stargazing
  • Strawberry picking
  • Going to the zoo
  • Hikes
  • Hide and seek
  • Running through the sprinkler
  • Squirt gun fights
  • Water balloon fights
  • Garage sales
  • Lemonade stands
  • Listening to live music
  • Reading a book

Add your own items to create a list of new and treasured activities for this summer. Check them off as you go. Do your favorites more than once!

Dear Lord,
Thank You for the summertime and the opportunity to see the beauty and growth of all Your creations. Thank You for sunshine, flowers, and fun. Thank You for creating us with the ability to enjoy life.
In Christ’s name, Amen.

Journal: What summertime fun do you have planned? Who will join you in your activities? Ask the Lord for blessings and safety as you enjoy your adventures.
