Connection

“When Thou saidst, Seek ye My face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.”

Psalm 27:8 KJV

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11 HCSB

My word for 2024 is Connection. I long to be closer to the Lord, my family, and friends.

I desire to spend time with others in meaningful activities and conversations that will move us in positive directions and create deeper bonds with one another.

I want to see the Lord in every area of my life. In nature, my daily tasks, the situations I encounter, and the people I meet and spend time with. I will pray longer and deeper, with more authenticity, explaining how I really feel. I will share my needs and wait quietly with anticipation, allowing time and space to hear from Him.

I will be kinder to myself. I will notice my strengths, accept my flaws, and seek to see myself from God’s perspective. I will enjoy spending time alone, experiencing new things and old favorites. I will appreciate the way the Lord created me and look for simple ways to improve my health and well-being. I will reduce negativity in my heart and mind.

So many times I’ve gained knowledge and insights into ways to improve, yet I have continued with my old actions and habits. This year, I will connect what I have learned with what I am doing.

Let’s all seek to learn, grow, and connect with others as we move forward!

PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for creating us for connection with You and others. Please help us each day to strengthen our connections and lead us to new ones that will be to your glory. In Christ’s name, Amen.

Journal: How will you strengthen your connections with God and others in the coming year?

  1. My word for 2023 was Connect. 😁 I just posted my reflections about it on Substack. The Lord did amazing things with it in my life and relationships. I love reading your plans. The prayer is wonderful – one of the big things He taught me (as an introvert) was that He created us for connection.
