“For He will conceal me in His shelter in the day of adversity; He will hide me under the cover of His tent; He will set me high on a rock.”
Psalm 27:5 HCSB
“We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.”
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 HCSB
In the past, I have been a mother bear, who lovingly cares for her children and is always on the lookout for potential pitfalls, problems, and people that could harm my boys. But as they’ve grown, I can’t always be with them.
Recently, I watched my older son’s flight take off. It’s exciting to watch him experience new adventures, but it reminds me that I must let him go and trust in the One who will lovingly watch over him!
The Lord is our Protector. He stays close by us and shelters us in the trials of life. Deuteronomy 31:8 (HCSB) says, “The Lord is the One who will go before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.”
Prayer:
Dear Lord, as David says in Psalm 5:11-12 (HCSB), “…let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them shout for joy forever. May You shelter them, and may those who love Your name boast about You. For You, Lord, bless the righteous one; You surround him with favor like a shield.” Thank you for Your ever present protection! In Christ’s name, Amen.
