“There is an occasion for everything, and a time for every activity under heaven:”
Ecclesiates 3:1 HCSB
“Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.”
Psalm 37:5 NKJV
Fall reminds us of crisp morning air, warm sunshine, sweaters, hayrides, pumpkin picking, shorter days, bonfires, and football. But it’s the vibrant leaves of every hue that stand out to me. Reds and yellows, oranges and purples, pointy and rounded odd shapes fill our eyes with delight. Many take road trips or hikes just to take in their beauty.
Whatever we choose to do this season, let’s learn to fall into step with God and His creation.
Just as the trees transition into beautiful colors and release their leaves, preparing for a future renewal in the spring, fall is a time to let go of whatever is not serving us and notice the beauty of what surrounds us. Just as the seasons change, our lives and needs change.
Fall Into Step
Let things fall away.
Don’t carry more than you need.Release what’s causing trouble,
and ask God to set you free.
Don’t hold tight
with all your might,
to what no longer
serves you well.
It’s time to drop
those things that aren’t
worth holding onto now.
Step out in faith,
knowing that the Lord
will continue to lead and guide you
wherever you go.
The path will be brighter,
the load will be lighter,
the colors more vivid and true,
when you remember
the One Who’s
holding onto you.
Let us use this season to release and reconnect with our Lord and the beauty of His timing and creation.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for fall and the blessings that come with each changing season. Please help us to let go of what is not serving us in this season and trust You to guide us on the right path. May we see the beauty of all You’ve created and find our rest and renewal in You. In Christ’s name, Amen.
